Spanish Roja, a Rocambole hardneck garlic. Known for its robust "true garlic" rich, and complex flavor, Spanish Roja has large, easy to peel brownish red cloves with beautiful deep purple stripes on the bulb wrappers.
The garlic scape, which forms about 3-4 weeks prior to harvest, will form 1 to 3 tight loops or coils shortly after the scapes appear. If left on the plant the flower stalk (scape) could reach 3-4 feet tall when they uncurl.
When properly cured should store for 4-5 months.

Hardneck garlics are the best option for Northern gardeners, as they tend to be cold hardy and can withstand extreme winter temperatures.
Suggested planting in USDA growing zones 3-8, not recommended in extreamly warm climates.
All seed is shipped as full bulbs, and will begin shipping in September for fall planting.
